CookWeave: Recipes & Menus

Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Dazlight (“we”) handles information in the CookWeave Android app. Dazlight operates from Ukraine. For privacy questions, email info@dazlight.com.

This policy covers the app. Our website and its support form have a separate Website Privacy Policy, including information about website analytics. The public online catalog and Pro purchases are unavailable in the current app version.

2. Your local cooking data

CookWeave stores the recipes, ingredients, menus, private notes and photos, kitchen profile, cooking sessions, history, corrections and related settings you create on your device. It also stores local menu drafts and any private copies you choose to save. The app uses this information to provide recipe, planning, shopping and cooking features.

You can use the local recipe book and cooking tools without an account or internet connection. We do not automatically upload your private book to Dazlight. The app does not include advertising or a network analytics SDK. Its own diagnostic journal is stored on the device and is not automatically uploaded.

Depending on your device and Android backup settings, the operating system may back up some app data. CookWeave does not itself provide automatic online sync of your private book.

3. Optional account and online actions

If you choose to create or use an account, Firebase Authentication may process your email address, account identifier, credentials or Google sign-in information, and technical service information needed for authentication and security. CookWeave may store a display name and your acceptance of community terms. Google provides Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore; these services may process data outside your country.

When an online action is available and you explicitly use it, selected publication drafts, feedback, reports, saved items or other account-linked activity may be sent to the CookWeave backend. Approved public content may be visible to other users with your public display name. Private recipe notes and photos are not automatically published. Public photo upload is unavailable in the current version.

Online access and account features are separate from the local cooking tools. The current public catalog is unavailable; this policy describes how optional account and submission features handle data when they are used, not a promise that every online feature is available now.

4. Recipe links and files you choose

If you choose to import a recipe from a URL, your device requests the selected page. That website may receive your IP address and other normal request information under its own privacy practices. The result is an editable private draft unless you separately choose to submit permitted content online.

You can export or import CookWeave backup files. A backup may contain private recipes, notes and other content. You choose its file destination or source through your device. If you save it with a cloud file provider, that provider handles the copy under its own policy. Removing the app does not remove exported files.

5. Timers, support and service providers

Cooking timers and reminders use your device’s notification services, subject to your device settings. They help track time but do not check whether food is safe or done.

If you email us or use our website support form, we receive the contact details and message you send to answer your request. Your device, Google Play or Firebase may process technical and diagnostic information as part of providing their services. We do not use your private recipe book for advertising or sell it to data brokers.

6. Retention, deletion and your choices

You can edit or remove local recipes and other local data in the app, export a backup, clear app data or uninstall CookWeave. Copies you exported must be managed separately. Android or a chosen cloud file provider may keep backups under their own settings.

If you created an online account, use the in-app account deletion request after recent authentication, or contact info@dazlight.com for help. An in-app request creates a pending request for operator review; it does not instantly remove the account or all cloud data. Account and selected online records remain until the request is processed. Limited records may need to be retained for security, abuse prevention or legal reasons. Copies of public content previously downloaded by others cannot always be recalled.

You may contact us to request information about account or support data we hold and to ask for access, correction or deletion where applicable. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

7. Security, children and changes

Protect your device, account and exported files with appropriate security settings. No method of electronic storage or transfer is perfectly secure.

CookWeave is not designed for children. If you believe a child has sent personal information through an account or support channel, contact us so we can address it.

We will update this policy and the “Last updated” date if CookWeave’s data practices change.
